TPF’s hometown hottie of the week: Shalini Singh

Black dress sitting final

This L.A. Lakers girl has all the makings of this weeks Hometown Hottie of the Week. Shalini Singh is not only stunning and beautiful, she is one of the most educated and sophisticated models we have encountered. Beauty can go a long way in life, but it is intelligence and that level of class that not everyone has. After interviewing “Shal” we now know that she is every bit as classy as we thought.

While her parents were born in India, Shalini was born in the U.S. and raised in Thousand Oaks which is close to Malibu. She graduated from UCLA and embarked on a career as an on-air reporter for the International Channel. From there, she made a move to mainstream news and worked at KTTV Fox 11 in Los Angeles as a Production Associate. She worked on the morning newscast with Jillian Barberie Reynolds, host of FOX 11′s Good Day LA and ex-co-host of “The Best Damn Sports Show.” Shalini thought it was a blast meeting celebrities at the studio and being the celebrity junkie she is, it fed her appetite to watch the daily dose of TMZ.

Shal moved to the Bay Area a few years ago but her heart remains in L.A. She worked as an online news writer for KNTV, NBC 11 then moved to a PR agency. Currently, she is the head writer and marketing specialist for an agency called FIRST 5.

In addition to her busy modeling career she recently wrote a children’s book and hundreds of thousands of copies will be circulated very soon throughout California. Although she enjoys writing, her energy and personality come alive when she is on camera either interviewing or modeling.

We asked Shalini a few questions on and here is what we found out:

TPF: Tell us a little about your modeling career, what do you plan on accomplishing?

Shalini: My modeling goal is to keep taking stunning pictures! I usually enjoy being in the spotlight.. I’m a model after all! I’ve modeled everything from t-shirts, bikinis and chocolate candy bars! Some of my work includes modeling for a fashion show, website clothing store, online chocolate bar, an upcoming Men’s magazine, photographers in LA and the Bay and I’ve also acted in a few short films.

TPF: How about sports? Are you a Laker girl?

Shalini: Its no surprise, being from LA that my favorite sport’s team is the Lakers! I must say, its difficult living in the Bay Area during basketball season. I find myself fuming while watching the game at sport’s bars when other’s don’t support my boys! I get very involved during games.. high-fiving other Lakers fans. I might be borderline obnoxious but I have to represent LA here in the Bay!

TPF: Do you play any sports?

Shalini: Growing up I used to play tennis. I was obsessed with watching Wimbledon. Until one day instead of the ball striking my racket; disaster struck me… I broke my wrist while playing and haven’t picked up a racket since. I’m a girly girl so once injured its over! I’m addicted to working out at the gym though (borderline gym rat) and love watching sports with the guys!

TPF: Would you date a professional athlete, why or why not? Have you?

Shalini: I’m undecided about swooning for men in uniform… if he’s injured while playing it might break my heart!

TPF:Are you familiar with Brett Favre and the Jenn Sterger story? What would you do if Brett Favre sexted you pictures of his penis?

Shalini: I would take it to TMZ and the tabloids! The sexting.. not the penis! I’m a reporter afterall.

TPF: Finally! Someone who tells the truth! Knowing that you attended UCLA what are your thoughts about the Women’s Basketball team at UCONN beating the record held by the UCLA men’s team. Do you think the women’s record is the same as the men’s record or should they be separate?

Shalini: The women’s record should be separate from the men’s because there are differences between male and female physical capabilities. Men possess greater muscular strength and endurance and men tend to have a lower percentage body fat than women with similar training and athletic capabilities.

TPF: Thank you for providing us with your time and answers any last words or quotes to live by?

Shalini: Its important to remember that each day can be a wonderful moment in time we look back on and remember forever…. this is how I live my life.

Yes, she may be the total package, a perfect mix of beauty and brains. We would like to thank Shalini for putting up with us and allowing us to use her stunning photos on our site.
