Tim Tebow to be traded, 5 teams interested
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com the Denver Broncos are now looking to trade one of the most hyped quarterbacks of all-time in Tim Tebow.
Many have said Tebow doesn’t have what it takes to be a professional quarterback and teams are not willing to change an entire offense to make him successful.
Here’s a look at five potential teams could trade for Tebow-Time.
Lets get this straight, there is no comparison between Tony Romo and Tim Tebow. If the Cowboys were not interested in Peyton Manning replacing Romo they sure aren’t interested in Tebow replacing him. Jerry Jones knows how to make money, there is no questioning his brilliance when it comes to at least that aspect. New Cowboys Stadium cost over 1 billion dollars to build and was one of the most expensive sports venues in history. While Jones will get his money back eventually there is nothing like “Tebow-Mania” to speed the process along.
The Bills were interested in Tebow during the 2010 NFL draft, but Buffalo thought C.J. Spiller was a need at running back. They also thought drafting him that high would be absurd. Not only would Buffalo be interested because of the impact it would bring to the city who is one of the lower earning franchises, they would be interested because Chan Gailey loves gadget players. Gailey salivates over these types of players and didn’t get exactly what he wanted in Brad Smith.
He’s going home and saving the franchise? If Shahid Khan, the new owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars is searching for a way to expedite his return on the $760 million dollars he just invested this would be a start. Not only would Tebow be the starter, he would replace Blaine Gabbert as the quarterback of the future. No team makes more sense for Tim Tebow who played his college ball at Florida, only 90 minutes away.
The Browns are in need of a quarterback and had no chance of landing Peyton Manning. They also lost out to moving up to No. 2 in the 2012 NFL draft and the chance to select Robert Griffin or Andrew Luck. Cleveland has seen Denver pick them of quarterbacks over the years including Brady Quinn and now it is their turn to return the favor. Tebow might not be the long-term answer but he’s better than what they have.
The Seahawks are a quarterback away from being a legit team and just signed Matt Flynn, formerly of the Green Bay Packers. No one knows what Flynn will be as he has only started two NFL games during his career. Even though Tebow doesn’t give the Seahawks that down-the-field passer they are looking for he brings a winning attitude. It’s that winning attitude that Seattle has not had. A good percentage of success in the NFL is confidence and how the team gels. Not many can make a team gel the way Tim Tebow can.
