The Denver Broncos have been the topic of conversation for a good part of the NFL off-season with the acquisition of Peyton Manning.
The excitement is in the thin air and the Broncos could be the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl. After all, it only made sense for John Elway to replace Tim Tebow with Peyton Manning.
As the Broncos turn to the 2012 NFL draft the defense must be priority number one.
The Broncos were a strong defensive unit last season and look to gain more strength via the draft.

1. Indianapolis Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford: I have a solid top six that should only change barring any trades within the top six. Right now the only thing left for the Colts is to make it official and hear Roger Goodell announce Andrew Luck as the newest member of the Indianapolis Colts. We have seen rookie quarterbacks have success since 2008 when both Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco took their teams to the playoffs as rookies, and has continued on, now can Andrew Luck take the Colts to the playoffs in his first season?

This very well could be the most craziest off-season in NFL history, and the craziest free agency period in the history of the NFL. Last year, everyone was talking about obvious choices on who would be picking Andrew Luck, and most certainly nobody thought it would be the Indianapolis Colts. Have you ever been in a relationship with a pretty, nice girl for a fairly long time. You’ve had your ups and downs, but you’ve stayed together. She thinks you have multiple personalities and you think she can’t hit a pass on third down in a playoff game to save her life.
One day, your girlfriend catches you flirting with a popular hot girl who used to be a swimsuit model but has recently had a couple of surgeries on her neck and who just got kicked out of her marriage. Your girlfriend goes ballistic, breaks up with you and is having a five-hour date with some guy in Miami. She may end up moving there.
Even worse, the hot girl you were flirting with also turned out to be flirting with Tennessee and seeing a guy in Denver. She ended up moving to Denver.
Not only did your girlfriend kiss you goodbye, you may end up with Colin Kaepernick.
I speak, of course, of the San Francisco 49ers and their self-immolation.
John Elway played his only card
General manager of the Denver Broncos, John Elway, played the only card he had.
The Broncos are a religion unlike any other in Denver, and Elway knew he couldn’t run Tim Tebow out-of-town without a damn good excuse. Reputations are at stake here, especially Elway’s. He couldn’t risk his own legacy and permanent fixture as the most beloved sports figure ever in Colorado by dumping a fluke quarterback he never wanted, unless he dumped the fluke quarterback he never wanted for Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning to sign with Broncos
The greatest free agent of all time, Peyton Manning, is no longer a free agent.
Reports are starting to circulate that the Denver Broncos will sign the future Hall of Fame quarterback to replace Tim Tebow as the starter.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, “Peyton Manning will become the next quarterback of the Denver Broncos, barring a snag during intensified contract negotiations that have commenced under the instruction of the four-time MVP to his agent Tom Condon, according to multiple sources. Once the Manning deal becomes official, Denver will try to trade Tim Tebow, according to sources.”
Bay Area bound: Why Peyton Manning will sign with the 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers had a busy first week of free agency. On Monday the team signed wide receiver Randy Moss out of retirement to a 1-year contract. In an attempt to further bolster their receiving corps San Francisco reeled in former New York Giants wide out Mario Manningham with a 2-year deal to round out the week. Is Peyton Manning next?
