Baltimore Ravens destroyed a team to pay a quarterback

As soon as the Super Bowl ended in 2013, I predicted that the Baltimore Ravens would fail to make the playoffs the following year. Although I didn’t believe he was worthy, I foresaw the organization giving Joe Flacco a ridiculous amount of money to keep him in Baltimore.  They did, and that was the beginning of the team’s demise.

Among the many players of importance lost to the Ravens in the off season was Anquan Boldin, Flacco’s ‘go-to’ receiver.  They lost a total of eight starting players to free agency, which enabled them to stay under the salary cap.…

5. Chris McAlister

Cornerback Chris McAlister was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 1999 as the 10th overall pick and spent 10 seasons with the Ravens. McAlister was a member of the 2000 Baltimore Ravens defense which is considered one of the best defensive units in the history of the NFL. In 2000, McAlister and the Ravens won their only Super Bowl Championship. McAlister by himself made the longest play at the time in NFL history when he returned a missed field goal 107 yards for a touchdown on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos on September 30, 2002.…

When one talks about the linebacker position it’s amazing to think he was able to play for as long as he did.
