Norv Turner does something right, but for the Dallas Cowboys
Norv Turner hasn’t done much right, but he did at least one thing right but for the Dallas Cowboys.
It was San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner who personally called Jason Garrett of the about wide receiver Laurent Robinson.
Robinson, who was drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft has played for four teams in his short career. One of those the San Diego Chargers in 2011.
Robinson signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers on August 3, 2011. He had a disappointing preseason where he had only 1 catch for 18 yards through the first three preseason games. Despite an impressive final preseason game in which he caught six passes for 120 yards, he was released at the end of training camp on September 3, 2011.
Dallas needed help at the receiver position as Miles Austin went out with a hamstring injury so they turned to Robinson on the recommendation of Turner.
Seems like it worked, Robinson has posted 626 yards and seven touchdowns on 42 receptions since being signed on September 20th.
Guess San Diego fans can’t say that Norv hasn’t done at least one thing right? Then again it would have been better if he would have found a way to help his own team instead.
