Rodgers and Flacco to meet in battle of highest paid
Aaron Rodgers watched as Clay Matthews signed a long-term contract extension with the Green Bay Packers. According to NFL.com the five-year deal pays him $66 million and makes him the highest-paid linebacker in the NFL.
For now, Matthews is the highest-paid player in Packers history based on his season average. In comparison, quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ averages $10.83 million per year.
As the NFL schedule releases one key game for the Green Bay Packers is traveling to Baltimore to take on Joe Flacco and the Ravens.
The Ravens know all about having the highest paid player in a position as Joe Flacco signed a six-year, $120.6 million contract making him the highest paid player this offseason. His 20.1 million average yearly salary just tops the $20 million average Drew Brees received in his five-year, $100 million contract.
Aaron Rodgers has not signed as of yet, but everyone knows it is coming.
Some reports have Rodgers averaging as much as $25 million per year which could make him not only the highest player in the NFL, but one of the highest paid players in sports.
The Packers will have the contract wrapped up before the Packers travel to Baltimore which will feature a battle of the two highest paid players in the NFL.
