Manning Wants to Stay in Indianapolis
As we have seen over the season Archie Manning has been the source of many Peyton Manning comments. The latest, Peyton Manning prefers to stay in Indianapolis to continue his career.
Despite the loss of a Bill Polian, a close friend of Manning, many believed he may look elsewhere to finish his career, but Archie stated otherwise.
“Peyton kind of likes his roots in Indy,” Archie Manning said yesterday after watching his youngest son, Eli Manning, lead the Giants to a 37-20 victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field. “We’ll see what happens there. If that doesn’t work and he can get healthy we’ll see. That’ll all work out. He’s just trying to get healthy.”
Speculation will continue during the off season for the Colts as they own the number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and everyone continues to point to Andrew Luck.
The quarterback from Stanford has publicly stated that he has no problem being Manning’s backup.
For the Colts to pass on such a talent would be foolish but it all depends on the health of Peyton and no one knows that.
According to the NY Post, When asked specifically whether he would like to see Peyton with the Jets, the elder Manning said, “I’m not going to get into that.”
Archie said Peyton is focused solely on his rehab.
“He’s got a great attitude,” Manning said. “He’s just fighting and scratching, trying to get healthy. We’ll see what happens.”
