New England Patriots: Karma’s a bitch
The National Football League fined New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick $500,000 for violating league rules, fined the Patriots $250,000, and docked the team their original first-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft when a staff member was discovered videotaping signals by New York Jets coaches during the season opener in 2007. Fast forward to 2011 and the Patriots are living proof that karma is a bitch as they have yet to win a playoff game since the Spy Gate scandal.
The Patriots are now 0-3 in the playoffs since the Spy Gate disaster and have been the number one seed twice.
If you cheat and fail, you’re a cheater. If you cheat and succeed, you win Super Bowl’s?
Bill Belichick proved that in America it’s okay to cheat, as long as you cheat your way to the top, but when you start to fail afterward that is when the questions will arise.
If I cheat in a card game and win the hand and then get caught cheating after the hand, do I get to keep the money?
After the investigation Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a letter to the Patriots “This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid longstanding rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field.”
Those who want to argue and say the Patriots did not cheat can go ahead and continue the debate, but the fact is the Patriots admitted to cheating since the 2000 season when they started video taping and now it’s karma’s turn to punish the Patriots.
