Time for Rex to admit Sanchez is not his ‘guy’

I am pretty sure I lost a bet earlier this season when I predicted Mark Sanchez would be benched by Week 10.
At the start of the 2012 season, things were looking okay for the Jets. All they really needed to focus on is getting through a tough first half, fix mistakes during the bye, and storm through a much easier second-half schedule.
But, the Jets did not do what they needed to do and have been disappointing this season to say the least. Their lack of consistency and failure to win has been hard to stomach for the past 10 weeks.
It’s time for the team to look at what they can do to win.
The team cannot afford to talk about “what would be” if they had star cornerback Darell Revis and their top receiver, Santonio Holmes back on the roster. Something has to change now. At 3-6, the Jets can’t afford to lose any more games this season and it’s time to look at what the Jets can actually do.
It’s time to admit Sanchez isn’t the answer and here are 5 reasons why:
1. When Sanchez needs to perform, he seems unable to pretend to be motivated and rally his team. This season, the only thing Sanchez has shown consistency in is in being inconsistent. He is a 4th year Quarterback who continually makes rookie mistakes. Last week he turned the ball over again when the score was 7-7 at Seattle, and then again early in the 4th quarter when the team was down 21-7. We have seen this over and over again. Against the Patriots, his game winning decision to get rid of the ball and save lost yards ended the game. When the pressure is on Sanchez cannot be counted on to get it done.
2. It’s Tebow Time and Rex knows it. Over the last 10 weeks we have watched Ryan’s confidence in Sanchez slowly fade away. Early in the season, the head coach was able to say proudly that Sanchez is his Quarterback, Sanchez was “definitely his guy. By week 6, Sanchez was the team’s starting QB “this week. Coming off the Bye, Rex claimed Sanchez was probably the guy. But after yet another brutal loss to the Seahawks, frustrated Ryan explained, “I believe we can win with Mark and I believe we can win with (Tim) Tebow, but I’m not going to let you or anyone else convince me otherwise, this is how I feel. It gives us the best opportunity to win games, and that’s the only reason I make any move.”
Well Rex, your guy sucks. It’s time get a box of Kleenex and admit the truth. Sanchez has struggled this season significantly more than past seasons. In his fourth in the NFL, the only thing he has done is create a tougher season for Fans. Its time for Tebow to receive a chance at leading the offense. Afterall, he came in when Kyle Orton was ill performing.
3. The Jets are out of defenses. It was easy in the beginning of the season to defend Sanchez. The Jets lost their two star players, Darrelle Revis and Santonio Holmes, early in the year. The offensive line was ugly and the Jets could not pay Shonn Greene enough to actually run the ball. But excuses are not going to produce wins. While there is no doubt the team as a whole needs to step it up, something has to change now. At 3-6, the Jets can’t afford to lose any more games this season and it’s time to look at what the Jets can actually do.
4. Sanchez is Sanchez’s biggest problem. After a 3 game losing streak it’s clear that Sanchez is still in his own way. No one forced Sanchez to miss open receivers in the end zone. No one forced Sanchez to lose yards and the football. Sanchez can only perform when he is surrounded by an army of offensive targets.
5. Against the odd’s Tebow will do what Tebow will do best. For all his faults, Tebow is hardly a loser and his true value is overlooked. When given the chance, he won Big last year for the Broncos. In last season’s game against the Jets,Tebow ran for 57 yards as part of a 95-yard game-winning touchdown drive for a 17-13 win. He continued to lead comebacks against San Diego, Minnesota, Chicago and Steelers. Afterall, who can forget Tebow’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Thomas on the first snap, marking the longest game-winning touchdown pass in NFL playoff history.
Tebow may be a short-term solution to a large problem, but the Jets would have a better chance at a much-needed victory.
Maybe it’s time for the Jets to admit Rex Ryan’s not the guy.

Mayabe it’s time for everyone to admit that the Jets are not a real football team.
I agree. Rex needs to stop smoking whatever he’s smoking that makes him think Mark is the best chance to win. Obviously he isn’t.
It’s annoying to hear week by week, isn’t it?
The Rams are 3 point favorites over the Jets this weekend, then the Pats come into NY for a Thanksgiving Day feast. If the Jets are 3-8 after that then the Jets need to give Tebow a chance just to see what he can do. It’s not like the Jets are going anywhere after the regular season.

Tim Tebow should have been starting QB from the beginning and he is not the only player on the roster who is riding the bench when they should have been given the starting job there is more talent on the jets team than anybody sees, as they sit right now this ship is heading for davy jones’s locker If king rex would swallow his arrogant pride ….pride is the downfall of any team, it is over run by corrupt glory seekers.. put in Double T and the real latent talent on the jets team that lies dormant will rise to the occasion and you will see a team that the hard working men and women of new york can be truly proud of that can put some spring back in their steps and some animation back into the conversation that can lighen the load of a city and nation that is under attack from without and worse yet from within as the jets are so is this country under its current administration this ship is beating in gale winds off a rocky lee shore shipwreck is imminent and the chance of survival all but non-existent
