Janoris Jenkins paying dividends for Rams

Jeff Fisher expressed nothing but confidence when the St. Louis Rams drafted Janoris Jenkins and since the rookie made history he looks like a genius.

According to Fisher the Rams did a tremendous amount of research into Jenkins and was sure they found themselves the starter opposite Cortland Finnegan. .
While researching Jenkins, its easy to see the trouble he has been involved with. Dismissed from Florida after two marijuana possession-related charges within three months he then traveled to North Alabama and became the only player in Division II to return three punts for touchdowns in the 2011 season.
The former University of Florida standout finished with 53 total tackles, including four for a loss. He added two interceptions, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
Jenkins is an explosive corner but it’s his character that has had many people worried.
Fisher said Jenkins has everything an NFL team looks for in a cornerback.
“He’s very talented — obviously we knew that, and that has shown just in the last couple days,” Fisher said. “He’s got excellent football intelligence and he carries things from the classroom to the field. He’s going to be a really good player really soon for us.” – NFL.com
While he might be everything as a cornerback the question remains if he can stay out of trouble and leave his college problems behind him, so far so good.
