Adrian Peterson sets goals even higher
Anyone who anticipated Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to rush for over 2,000 yards in his comeback year would have been called crazy. Now, Peterson is setting his goals even higher for the 2013 NFL season.
While appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, Peterson said that he’s set a goal for 2013 that would represent two seasons for most running backs.
“I set the mark for 2,500,” Peterson said, via the Pioneer Press. “If you reach for the stars and fall short, you’re still there.”
Peterson may as well change his name to the “Bionic Man” at this point.
“It’s mental … my willpower, my determination,” he said. “I grind hard. When you want to be great – and, in my mind, I want to be the greatest that ever played – you can’t talk about it. You have to go out and work.”
“I know it might sound crazy,” he recently told the New York Times, but that was his mindset coming off injury. Peterson is only going to become stronger.
“An ACL injury at any position can be career-ending,”Head Coach Leslie Frazier said, “so to see Adrian come back as a running back and play the way he’s playing – to be the best again – is just amazing to watch.”

MEMO to Randy Moss: read AP’s comments 100 times and repeat “I have no clue what it takes to be great; AP does”. He is named BEAST for good reason.
I would like to see Moss back in Minnesota. Then we can find out if Ponder can actually throw the ball downfield rather than short little dump offs to the flat. Maybe he would even pass for more than 100 yards in a game or two.
