A Colts dream of 2013 NFL Free Agency
Now that the 2012-13 season is over for Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, it’s now time to look into next year and the free agent pool. Let’s say, for giggles, the Colts were willing to spend serious dollars on a big name free agent.

Let’s play a game called, “What if”.
What if the Colts wanted a big time receiver to compliment Reggie Wayne? I think we all saw T.Y. Hilton, and what he can bring to the table, and we pretty much know Austin Collie can no longer count to ten without flashcards.
Who would make the perfect No. 2 receiver?
Two names come to mind and both of them are going to demand a hefty paycheck. Mike Wallace of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Salsa Dancer himself, New York Giants’ Victor Cruz. Yeah, I know, it’s a pipe dream, but it’s a fake game we’re playing. The chances of Cruz calypsoing out of New York is a long shot, but I can see Wallace leaving Pittsburgh for the fast dome life of Lucus Oil. Just image, Wayne, Wallace and Hilton running down Luck bombs. I’m getting a stiffy just thinking about it.
What if the Colts wanted to shell out some cash to protect Luck?
This has to be a priority in the offseason. What about Miami Dolphins’ Jake Long? Of course, he’s not the Jake Long of two years ago, but he’s still a force and I’m sure Andrew would sleep a little better knowing Jake Long has his back
How about defense?
What if the Colts went after the shutdown corner? Guys like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie or my favorite, Marcus Trufant. The Colts have been without a shutdown corner since the likes of…well no one. They thought they had something that looked and acted like a shutdown corner when they traded for Vontae Davis, but then they realized he only plays one on TV.
What if they went after LB?
Homegrown kid, Anthony Spencer from the Dallas Cowboys would be a nice addition to Freeman and Angerer, and shore up an underrated defense. Again, another long shot, but whatever, a guy can dream.
What if they were heavily involved in some trades?
There is a certain little guy in Jacksonville that would make a huge splash in Indianapolis. I’m talking to you, MJD. Going by your career stats at the RCA and Lucus Oil, you should be the all time leading rusher in about six weeks.
Lastly, and most importantly, what if the Colts made a push for Tim Tebow? Wait…nevermind…just kidding.

“and we pretty much know Austin Collie can no longer count to ten without flashcards.” – This is a very serious long term issue that could very well happen to him, and definitely not a laughing matter. As much as I love the game of football, when it comes to long term health concerns, we cannot make light of those situations.
The Austin Collie comment is a little harsh and unnecessary! The guy gave it his all and is forced to possibly leave the game he loves due to SERIOUS head injuries. Nothing there that should be made light of. No class at all in that comment!
